I discovered artist Yulduz M. during the 2020 pandemic on Tiktok. I saw a video of her paintings of celebrities and instantly had to follow her journey. Yulduz demonstrates how lines, shapes, and variations of one color can make a bold piece. It’s a reminder to a creative like me that creativity doesn’t have to be complex in order to communicate or be aesthetically pleasing, but less can create more. Additionally, over the years I have learned how art doesn’t have to be ordinary or “natural”, but you can create unconventionally and do things such as use colors for portraits of humans.
Yulduz’s art style inspires me to think more carefully about color choices in my own work. It inspires me to explore how tone and shading alone can communicate messages and emotions. I aspire to implement this style into my graphic design as I am a lover of vibrant color palettes and I aim to help/create brands that stand out distinctively.
